Normally, I’d find myself exhausted after working so “hard” on the foreground and I’ll make a half-assed background and convince myself that the background shouldn’t be too eye catching so that people may focus on the foreground instead… but then again… the half-assed background makes the picture decent but not as good as it can be. Dx
Well for me, I love drawing and painting out backgrounds, just that the time it takes to colour the background is almost as long, if not longer than colouring the character(s) take ;_;! But it can be fun to do. Recently, I’ve been playing around with random patters and textures for backgrounds which has had some interesting results!
