Clearing Out the Cobwebs…

Man alive it’s been a good minute since I used this blog!  According to the time stamp of my last post, I updated the blog on May 16th, 2014 which is more than 4 years ago!  Since that time a lot has happened:

  • I went back to school and graduated last year with a diploma in Graphic Design!
  • Went to Anime North and other conventions’ Artist Alley
  • Been job hunting now that I have that diploma
  • Started working on my webcomic idea
  • My art/gaming desktop is on it’s last legs so now I’m reading up on the best/most affordable parts for a whole new build
  • Updating this blog!

If you’re wondering why I’m updating the blog now, well good ol’ tumblr has had some interesting changes to it’s policy.  And as expected many of the adult artists have been jumping ship.  Now I’m not personally an adult porny artist myself, but I have been thinking of trying to draw some more risqué if only for the purpose of improving my anatomy.  Nothing crazy, no wild fetishes, tentacle porn, gangbangs or anything like that.  The odd booty here, an anime tiddy there, that’s all!  But seeing how Tumblr has put the kibosh on any of that, so I’ll try it here!  Might have to check and see if Bluehost allows that kind of stuff.  In the mean time, I’d like to direct you to this tweet and this post of other places you can find me and my art online!

EDIT-Looks like I can’t post that here, any suggestions internet?

It’s that time again!

Time for my once yearly update of this blog! Time for a convention post! Mind you, I do have plans for big update to this blog, as I have a lot to write about. A lot of exciting stuff! But in the meantime, back to the convention post!

I want you to take a look at this map. A long and hard look! I want you to stare into the soul of this map! Are you looking? That’s Anime North’s Comic Market floor plan, and I’m going to be there next weekend! Armed with cute chibies, pretty portraits, gleeful group shots, itty-bitty buttons and then some! I’ll take sketch commissions, hope to chat with people, take cosplay photos and hopefully take in a pannel or two. With that in mind, make table A13 your one stop shop for all your artsy con swag! See you at AN everyone!

CON FEVAH!!

My, my, it’s been a long time since I’ve updated this place, hasn’t it? I really do need to make an effort to balance my updates of this blog and of my tumblr. I’ll definitely need to look for a plugin that allows cross posting of wordpress entries over to tumblr or something, though it seems many artists are moving over to tumblr for their personal art blogs. Decisions…decisions…! So what have I been up to since I last updated here? Lots and lots of things! Especially conventions! My first artist alley experience was at Anime North and to say the least, I had a blast! No really! Meeting new people, talking to fellow artists and convention goers, seeing all the great cosplay as usual! It’s everything I thought being the artist alley would be and then some. I bet going to the bigger, US conventions would be even more awesome!

See this map here? That’s the artist alley(aka Comic Market) floor plan for this year’s convention, and I’m gonna be there! What can you expect to find? Beautiful buttons, pretty prints, cheerful chibies and gleeful group art! So during AN weekend, be sure to stop by table A02 for all your artistic needs! Right now I’m heading out to get some last minute table supplies and cookies, as I know all too well, the pain and intense hunger that comes with being at one’s table for hours and not stopping to have a meal. But to me, it’s all worth it! Here’s hoping I meet more awesome people this year! Be sure to keep an eye on this blog for my convention list this year!

CON FEVER!

Since my last update, I’ve been very, very busy. I’ve managed to get a table at Anime North’s Artist Alley(formally known as the Comic Market). I’m really excited and elated about this, especially with how competitive AN’s artist alley is. Actually this is my 3rd time trying for a table…I guess it’s true what they say about the third time’s the charm! Remember all those fanart wip’s that I’ve posted over the years of this blog? Well those happen to make up my first print set! They’re all tied together with a JRPG theme in mind because…I love my videogames!

No convention announcement post would be complete without a table map, so here’s mine! For my first AA experience, I’ll be at table E06, so all you lovely Toronto people, and people who are visiting for AN, please stop by!

31 days…

First of all, here’s to a happy, albeit late, 2012 greeting. I hope everyone who reads and glances through this blog, their 2012 has been a productive and interesting one so far. For me, it’s been pretty good, nothing much to complain about, health is going well(and it better continue that way!). In terms of artistic plans for 2012, I have one big plan, and I might as well come clean about it. If you look through all the entries for the past two and a half to three years, you might have noticed many works in progress and livestream videos(usually fanart), but never any mention of the finished results. There is a specific reason for that. And that reason is…I want to get all these fanart pictures printed and sold at conventions around town. I hope I’m not jinxing myself but I have my sights set on the artist allies of three conventions this year(which I’ll post more about here and on the front page of my site), Anime North, Ochiba-con and Dot-con. As a result of preparing for these events, pretty much all my drawing time has been devoted to finishing up the fanart, and getting it ready to be printed hopefully sometime next month. Here’s a video of me colouring that on of my convention works in progress. So there, I’ve come clean! For those of you following me on facebook, there’s the explanation of convention related questions and polls. Also, with that in mind, what sort of conventions do you hope to attend this year?

And this would be my last fanart print, because no print set is complete without a little Yousuke Hanamura…none!

A little something I started inking in December of last year. Nothing more welcoming on a deviantArt page, like a glaring charicature!

I definitely intend to update this blog more frequently throughout this year. Wish me luck…I’ll need it! In the mean time, you can see my sketches and doodles on my tumblr and finished and more polished looking work on deviantArt, as I put the finishing touches on the ol’ homepage.
