Temptation

Since first hearing about and seeing japanese youtube videos related to it, I took an interest in the game Shin Megami Tensei Persona 4. Luckily I got it last December, even though the store I pre-ordered it from was a little delayed in getting their shipment. But I have it and have been playing ever since…

So it’s December in the game, and what a roller coaster ride the story has taken! Now I’ve come to the point of the story: identifying the real killer! Now I’ve had a couple of theories in my head as to who it could be, one in particular “clears” one character but can’t explain why another is the culprit. I really want to know if this theory is right, but this game is so good and I’d hate to spoil myself over this! And what’s worse, there’s tons of fan art out there that looks really “suspicious” when it comes to one person! Guess I just need to play through and see if my theory is right after all…so to anyone reading this, ever been tempted to see how an rpg like P4 would end(and PLEASE don’t spoil the ending for me!)? Or have you tried finding the answers through trial and error?

Plurk’d

Well I went and jumped the bandwagon a couple of days ago and joined Plurk. Now for the obligatory link to my profile and to try and entice pople to join:

I wonder if there’s a sidebar widget for plurk? Only one way to find out…

Security

Goodness, I really do need to pay a little more attention to this blog. I can’t want more people to notice it when it’s barely updated now, can I?

As much as the internet enables people to share things, such as art(after all this is an artsite) with hundreds, thousands and even millions of people around, there is a slight downside to sharing your works with others online, and that downside is, of course, art theft.

Never could understand why people feel the need to steal someone’s work. To me, it seems a lot more rewarding to try and learn how to make things on your own and pick up a few tips and tricks from artists that you admire. But to blatantly steal it? Just doesn’t seem worth it to me. So with that in mind, I just spent a good hour looking through tutorials to disable right clicking on website’s and stopping people from viewing your site directory folders.

First I came up with this but figured it was too easy, so my brain said “Look for a HARDER tutorial!”…this is one of the many moments when I really shouldn’t listen to the ideas in my head…they aren’t productive ones. Then I tried following another tuorial and for a while, half of the site just wouldn’t work. Remember kids, read tutorial instructions carefully, it really does help. So after 20 minutes of googling more tutorials to fix my half broken site, finally went back to the easy way, put a lovely little index file into each folder that contains images, just that simple. And now a test….

art

All of the images for the site’s gallery are located in an art folder. Can you see it’s contents?

Now can you see that? If you said yes, then I did this right and I can be proud. Such a shame we live in a world where you have to worry about people stealing art and other things though…

W I P Test!

Trying out how small images look on the blog, don’t want anything stretching and breaking the layout. So here’s a little something I was playing around with.

Forwards and backwards

Well we’re finally at the end of the year, time really does go by quickly! With the end of each year and the promise of a new one, we need to reflect on the things you’ve done in the past and your plans for the future…so…here we go!

Major Events of 2008:

o1. Nearly slicing off my right hand pinky finger tip off and needed 5 stiches to patch myself back together…I’ll never look at automatic sliding doors the same again.

o2. Managing to pass a calculus course for the first time…I HATE CALCULUS.

o3. Taking a physics course and passing with flying colours.

o4. Slowing developing a new drawing(chibis included) and colouring style all because of a certain korean artist.

o5. Ranting…A LOT about my part time job. And the rants will continue, I’m sure…ORZ…

o6. Purchasing web hosting for this very blog and accompanying site…only to lauch the site 6 months later.

o7. Having to start repaying my student loan ¬____¬!

And a whole bunch of other minute occurances.

Plans for 2009:

o1. To GRADUATE COLLEGE!!!!!

o2. To keep at improving artwise, especially since I want to sell my art at conventions and I’m giving myself till 2010 to at least attempt to do something towards that -_-!

o3. To get a better job dammit…if there’s any advice I can give anyone reading this, DO NOT WORK AT WALMART ahhhhhhh!

o4. To draw more male characters D:!

o5. To gain more traffic to the site *shameless self promotion*!

o6. Experiment with more layout designs :D!

o7. To make cleaner pencil sketches.

o8. To FINALLY finish all the gift art and trades I owe people…I better finish up and get to work >_>!

Other than that I’m sure I’ll come up with some resolutions or two, but other than that, I hope for a good 2009! Anyone out there in the big bad internets got any plans for 2009 :D?
